In 1915 Giacomo Balla painted " Linee-forza del pugno di Boccioni ", a work that captures the movement and force of a gesture through dynamic lines and abstract forms. The central idea was simple and powerful: to visually represent the energy, speed and dynamism typical of Futurism.
Italian Futurism was born at the beginning of the twentieth century.
He was celebrating the speed, technological progress and dynamism of modern life , expressing enthusiasm for an era of profound social and industrial transformation and a world that was accelerating towards the future.
The Fast Hoodie is a direct reference to the visual language of Futurism , trying to bring into everyday life a fragment of that same energy that Balla had intuited and torn from his own era.
A contemporary tribute to a work that still feels extremely contemporary.
